Dear Sisters and Brothers,

I received information from the Company today that there are still many bargaining unit employees who have not signed up for their 2016 benefits. If you miss signing up during the annual benefits enrollment period, you will receive the default benefits. Part of the default benefits menu is that you will not get the non-tobacco user (NTU) reduction. The NTU reduction requires that the employee fill out the attestation form every year. Without the NTU reduction the Company will likely require you to pay higher premiums until the following year’s enrollment period. Even if you don’t qualify for the NTU reduction, it could help to look at your benefits and make sure that the default is what you would choose.

Please pay attention to the enrollment deadline tomorrow. If you can tell your co-workers that tomorrow is the enrollment deadline it would be a great way to actively care about your fellow Union sisters and brothers. It could save them a lot of money too. If you know someone that is not going to report to work prior to the enrollment cut-off time on Friday, please consider calling them. Some of the recently hired employees may not understand how this works yet. Please share this information.
