System Council U8 website.
The System Council U8 exclusively represents Progress Energy Bargaining Unit Employees. Our Council is made up from five Local Unions throughout our service territory.
Local Union 433 is located in Crystal River and represents hundreds of Union members at the Crystal River Production complex and other production locations in the system.
Local Union 626 is located in the Highlands County area and also represents employees at the Hines Energy Complex with the assistance of Local Unit 626.1
Local Union 682 has locations throughout the system located in the Suncoast region. Local Union 682 also represents the System Transmission and Substation employees throughout our entire service area. Local Unit 682.1 represent our members who work in the Inverness, Brooksville, Dunellon, Ocala, Reddick and Wildwood areas. Local Unit 682.2 represent our members who work in the northern part of the state including High Springs, Trenton, Perry, Monticello, Madison, Jasper, Crawfordville, Odena and Port St Joe.
Local Union 1412 represent our members in the Central Florida area including, Buena Vista, Apopka, Eustis, Longwood, Jamestown, Conway and the Holopaw area.
Local Union 1491 represent our members who work in the Deland area which covers numerous communities including, Lake Helen, Orange City, Enterprise, Deltona, Debary, De Leon Springs, Barberville and Pierson.
YOUR Union is here to represent you as members of the I.B.E.W. The I.B.E.W. has a long history in the Utility industry and has been representing Utility workers since 1891. We are here to speak with one voice in order to bring our members the safest working conditions in the industry. We are here to bargain in good faith with our employer in order to obtain fair wages and benefits while producing the highest quality workmanship and maximized productivity in exchange for our skilled labor and professionalism.
